UC Campus

Since its founding in 2003, The University of Cambodia (UC) has become one of the leading and most reputable higher education institutions in Cambodia. It sits on more than three hectares in Phnom Penh and is flanked by the Southeast Asia Television (SEATV) and Radio (SEA Radio), which are both long-standing partners of UC and help serve as training centers for the College of Media and Communications. SEATV hosts and broadcasts several UC events, such as the annual graduation, and then airs them, along with UC TV and radio commercials.

Totaling eleven floors, The University of Cambodia’s main campus building finished construction in 2016 and has completely new and modern facilities. The University strongly believes in the access of education to all individuals, and thus has ensured that the entire campus is handicap-accessible; the building has six elevators and ramps so that all students can move freely around the campus with no obstacles. Free WiFi is available to everyone, and the campus is officially smoke-free.

The first floor contains the Office of Admissions, Information, and Registration where visitors can inquire information about the University, and current students can apply for their ID cards. The Cashier is also located opposite the Office of Admissions, and they are responsible for receiving payments from students for tuition fees and other fees within the university and inputs all income payments into the system. The Toshu Fukami Library and E-Library, one of the largest libraries in Cambodia with over 65,000 items, is open to the public seven days a week. Learn more about the library by clicking here. Students are welcome to hang out and relax in the chairs downstairs and watch the many TVs that the University has installed.

The second floor holds many of the administrative offices, including Human Resources, Accounting and Finance, and the University Registrar. The Office of Student Services is also located on this level, which was created in order to help students if they have any problem. Both the Meeting Room and Conference Room on this floor can host various university guests and other functions.

Levels three through ten hold the various colleges, schools, centers, and classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with air conditioning, comfortable chairs, whiteboards, and LCD projectors. The Conference Center, located on the 5th floor, is a multipurpose expansive space located on the fifth floor with a capacity of 200 people. It holds forums, lectures by guest speakers, and centralized midterm and final exams for students. The tenth floor, home of the Techo Sen School of Government and International Relations, has renamed the classrooms after ASEAN member states, and the ambassadors of each country are invited to deliver a lecture as part of UC’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

On the eleventh floor, students are invited to visit the UC Bookstore, which supplies all textbooks and study materials to students and ensures that books and related study materials are available for students at a low cost; they also sell drinks and other gifts. The UC Copy Center is adjacent to the Bookstore, where individuals can make copies and students can purchase permission forms for their classes. Coffee Today, an international coffee chain, opened a store on the 11th floor, so students, faculty, and staff, can have an alternate place to study and hang out.

The University of Cambodia hosts a restaurant at the front of the campus in order to serve delicious food and drinks seven days a week for faculty, staff, and students. It is open from 6:30am to 7:30pm. On the backside of the building is a covered, secured parking lot at the back of the University which is available to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. The parking lot is staffed with guards during all hours of UC operations at a cost of 500 riels for motorbikes and 200 riels for bicycles. UC also offers open air parking for cars which costs 2000 riels. There is also a football pitch as well as a volleyball court, which students are encouraged to use.
