In particular, in 2007 and 2008, Dr Handa has provided 500 scholarships to university students for each year under the framework of Samdech Hun Sen – Dr Handa National Scholarships.
In recognition of Dr. Handa’s generous contributions to Cambodia, Samdech Akka Moha Senai Pedai Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will present a Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon to Dr. Haruhisa Handa during the official Ceremony of the Samdech Hun Sen – Dr. Handa National Scholarships on October 15, 2008, in Phnom Penh, where the 500 students will also receive their scholarship certificates from both Samdech Techo the Prime Minister and Dr. Handa.
To be sure, the Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon is the highest award of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon by His Majesty Samdech Preah Boramaneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, King of Cambodia.
It is also important to note that Dr. Haruhisa Handa had made numerous and generous contributions to Cambodia in many fields, including higher education such as in the present case.
