Gross visits The University of Cambodia as part of The International Peace Foundation “Bridges: Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace” presented the Asia Leadership Center of The University of Cambodia.

The Asia Leadership Center of the University of Cambodia invites the public to spend the afternoon and dialogue with Professor David J. Gross, 2004 Nobel Laureate for Physics, as he speaks on the topic “The Future of Science and Human Development.”

As part of the ALC’s ongoing Eminent Leaders Lecture Series, “Bridges,” will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the UC Conference Center on The University of Cambodia’s main campus in Phnom Penh. The lecture is free of charge and open to professionals, government officials, academics, professors, students and all others looking to learn more about different aspects of leadership and peace.

In 2004, Professor David J. Gross was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics for his discovery and exploration of the force that binds particles inside an atomic nucleus. This phenomenon led to a whole new physical theory and enabled scientists to complete the standard model of particle physics, which describes the fundamental particles in nature and how they interact with one another.

The ALC is happy to host Professor Gross as part of its Eminent Leaders Lecture Seriesas it strives to achieve its goal of promoting, encouraging and informing people about many different aspects of leadership. The series intends to cover a variety of topics relating to leadership, including peace, development, democracy and more. Accompanied by other programs such as workshops and interactive conferences, it is just one of the ALC’s tools to perpetuate an understanding of leadership in today’s society.
