November 10, 2009-Phnom: Nobel Laureate promotes dialogues for a culture of peace.
Film star Mr. Jackie Chan visits The University of Cambodia as part of The International Peace Foundation “Bridges: Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace” presented the Asia Leadership Center of The University of Cambodia.
 
The Asia Leadership Center of the University of Cambodia invites the public to spend the afternoon and dialogue with Mr. Jackie Chan, International Film Star, as he speaks on the topic “Arts and Culture as a Pathway Towards Peace.”
 
As part of the ALC’s ongoing Eminent Leaders Lecture Series, “Bridges,” will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the UC Conference Center on The University of Cambodia’s main campus in Phnom Penh. The lecture is free of charge and open to professionals, government officials, academics, professors, students and all others looking to learn more about different leadership and peace.
 
Mr. Chan is a Hong Kong actor, action choreographer, filmmaker, producer, martial artist, screenwriter, entrepreneur, and singer. He has been acting since the 1970s and has appeared in over 100 films. As a cultural icon, he has been referenced in various pop songs, cartoons and video games and has received stars on the Hong Kong Avenue of Stars and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is also a keen philanthropist and a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, having worked tirelessly to champion charitable causes.
 
During the event, The University of Cambodia will bestow an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Mr. Jackie Chan for his lifetime achievement in the  arts.
 
The ALC is happy to host The International Peace Foundation “Bridges-Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace” and Professor Ciechanover as part of its Eminent Leaders Lecture Seriesas it strives to achieve its goal of promoting, encouraging and informing people about many different aspects of leadership. The series intends to cover a variety of topics relating to leadership, including peace, development, democracy and more. Accompanied by other programs such as workshops and interactive conferences, it is just one of the ALC’s tools to perpetuate an understanding of leadership in today’s society.
