Preah Vihear Temple World Heritage Anniversary

 
 
6 July 2009 (Phnom Penh) - UC will commemorate Preah Vihear temple’s one-year inscription anniversary as a World Heritage Site on Tuesday, 7 July 2009. All students, faculty and staff will spend 15 minutes for observation.  
 
The University will lead the commemoration by beating drums, to mark Cambodia and the world heritage treasure constructed during the Angkor period, on that day.
 
UNESCO granted Cambodia’s sole request for Preah Vihear Temple to be listed a world heritage site last July 7, 2008 in Quebec, Canada at the 32nd UNESCO meeting.
