Apply for Scholarship to Study at Payap University

This is for UC Undergraduate students only.

 

The University of Cambodia-Payap University partnership is pleased to announce Round Two of our “UC-Payap Study Abroad Scholarship Program.”

 

Three (3) scholarships are available for UC students.

 

Two Study Options; Students pick one

1.      (June 6 to October 8)

·        Study in one of the 4 departments of our International College  (http://ic.payap.ac.th/undergraduate/)

2.      (June 6 to December)

·        Study in the South East Asian Institute of Global Studies (SEAIGS) program

o       (June to July) students take 2 classes (6 credits) in the "Summer Program"

o       (August to December) students take a full load (15 credits) in the "Fall Semester"

 

Facts

·        Scholarship covers:

o       Roundtrip airfare from Phnom Penh to Chiang Mai (However, Passport and Thai Student Visa will have to be paid by the student)

o       Tuition costs at Payap

o       Dormitory/housing costs

o       Weekly meal plan (breakfast and dinner, Mon-Fri)

o       Small stipend (spending money) of approximately 3,000 Thai baht (100 baht per day) to cover other meals and incidental expenses.

·        Students only pick Option 1 or Option 2

·        Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA

·        Students must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

·        Students will study mostly with native English speakers

·        Students will learn about SE Asia from various disciplines

·        The SEAIGS program includes exciting academic excursions around Thailand, which are not part of the International College

1.      Maximum one page personal essay (12 pt font, Times New Roman, single space) responding to each question below:

o       Why are you interested in the Payap Study Abroad Scholarship?

o       How will you use this experience to strengthen the development of Cambodia?

o       How will this experience help your future career plans?

 

2.      Current resume/curriculum vitae (cv)

 

Deadline (April 25, 2011)

All materials must be received by 5:00 p.m., April 25, 2011. The Scholarship Review Committee will conduct interviews shortly after.
