Construction Update: Radio/TV Building Opens This Month

As construction of the new University of Cambodia campus progresses, the new radio/television building is set to be completed this month. Although the building, which will house the university-owned FM 106 and Southeast Asia Television, will officially open in an inauguration ceremony on October 2, 2009, initial on-air testing for the television station will begin in June with more substantial testing in August. According to UC President Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, the station will begin programming soon after. The radio |
station has already been in operation for nearly 2 years.
Also underway at the new campus is the Handa Building, which is about 15 percent complete. Talks are still underway as to what this building will house.
The new campus will open in its entirety in October 2010.
