COLLABORATION

BETWEEN

OHIO UNIVERSITY, ATHENS, OHIO, U.S.A.

AND

THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBODIA, PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA

Dr. Angus D .Munro, UC Vice President, Mr. Thomas Shostak, Dean of Lifelong Learning,
Ohio University and
Ney Choeun Rith, Director of Leadership and Career Development Center (LCDC)

Ohio University and the University of Cambodia are committed to the advancement of higher education and the promotion of international understanding.  Our two institutions wish to develop joint collaborative programs in pursuit of this goal.  The proposed collaboration is reflective of the increased globalization that now characterizes higher education; the growing ties between the United States and Cambodia, and the importance of international development and social change in developing countries.  Through institutional linkages such as this, education can transcend boundaries between countries and culture and become and important mechanism to promote development, to improve the quality of life of the people and nations, to better prepare students for the new realities created by a globalized marketplace of jobs and ideas, and to facilitate international understanding and cooperation.
