New Term to Start

The University of Cambodia started its new term, Term II, 2006-2007, in February and it will run until the end of the second week in June. UC is pleased with the new enrollment and it wishes to extend a warm welcome to all the new students.


 

Term III, 2006-2007, at the University of Cambodia will start in the first week of July 2007. The registration for this new term begins now, and the University of Cambodia invites all interested students to apply early. For more information on admissions, please contact the Office of Admissions and Record of the University of Cambodia.


 

UC announces the recipients of the Paul Heng Scholarship

Congratulations to the following students on being recipients of the Paul Heng Scholarship. The Paul Heng Scholarship will help fund their undergraduate studies as they pursue their educational dreams at the University of Cambodia.  The scholarships are funded by Mr. Paul W. Heng, President of the Unigen Corporation.


 

The recipients are: So Pov, Um Theng, Samdap Than, Dy Channthou, Man Nary, Chhim Dany, Hong Sorphorn, Chea Sopheak, Bo Dalin, Heng Leakhena . 


 

Discussion with Texas University

Following up on a visit by a team from Texas State University last year (October 27, led by Dr. Dennis Dunn), Dr Kenneth J. Wilson and his wife visited UC to discuss issues related to teaching at our University with Dr. Kao Kim Hourn and Dr. Angus Munro. They discussed science-teaching and possible collaboration with the Texas State University.


 

UC hosts the Fulbright Scholarship briefing session

UC hosted the Fullbright scholarship session on March 9th. It was conducted by the US Embassy to inform students about the process for applying for the scholarship. The US Embassy Public Relation officer Mr. Jeff Daigle and two of his colleagues were present to brief the students. 


 

UC  receives donation of books from the Embassy of India and UNDP

Embassy of India and the UNDP gave a valuable gift to the University of Cambodia's Toshu Fukami Library. UC staff and students express their sincere gratitude for the same.


 

The Toshu Fukami Library is open to University students and the general public seven days a week.


 

UC to launch the nation-wide scholarship for high school top achievers

In keeping with its pursuit of providing education to all deserving students, University of Cambodia is launching its nation-wide scholarship program for high school top achievers. The most outstanding and deserving candidate from each high school through-out the country will be given a full-scholarship to study at UC.


 

UC sets the date for its Third Annual Graduation

UC’s third annual Graduation Ceremony will be held on October 20th at the UC Conference Hall. For further details, please contact the administration office.


 

Welcome to New Faculty

Dr. Aaron Roots has joined UC as the coordinator for College of Public Health. He specializes in chiropractic and acupuncture. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College and Master in Neurology from Parker College of Chiropractic.

News from Center for English Studies (CES)

Congratulations to all the successful FasTrax and ESL students who just completed the term. Special congratulations to all the FasTrax Module 6 students who are now students at the University of Cambodia. Good luck with your studies and please come and visit CES when you have a moment.

Exciting news!

University of Cambodia will SOON launch a fantastic new English program for junior and high school students. This new program will be combining interesting topic with visually appealing textbooks to develop and stimulate the learning of English, covering all four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. One aspect of this new program will be an intensive course for junior and high school students who want to communicate in English – fast!


 

Over the next few weeks, UC will launch and extensive marketing campaign, raising awareness of this program.
